Dyckia platyphylla
It was about time to show the true Dyckia platyphylla.
This is a plant from North of the Cerrado area in Brazil.
It is a classic! Most of the Dyckia platyphylla show out of my country are just Dyckia platyphylla relatives. They have some platyphylla blood, some more some less and pure strain is absolutely hard to see. This use to happen to the first Dyckia to go out. People there didn´t know how easy going they were, how they had sex with any other Dyckia. Open fertilization in Dyckia collection leads to this. It happened with Dyckia fosteriana and this species here is seen integral and pure ´cause this plant is capable of cloning otherwise it would be just like the fosterianas.
Platyphylla means broad leaved plant.
