Dyckia delicata from Tomba Bodes Slope in Barros Cassal - Rio Grande do Sul

Undoubtlessly one of the most dazziling Dyckia
 species of all.
Rare and special this is a dream plant!

Fan Dyckias shoots are very hard to be separated from their mother plants.
They are well attached to their mothers.

Now imagine a red one fan Dyckia...soon it will be reallity...

Fan Dyckia

Fan Dyckias are hard to find ´cause they reproduce ony by  off shooting sprouts.
This is not a true species. They are foiund in nature but fan formed plants
are an aberration and sterile chimeras.

We were all made believe this plant was not self fertile  and that was the reson for the bad seed results.
The true Dyckia estevesii plant is  a normal looking one whose seeds give birth so some fan and sterile malformations.
These plants here are chimeras and not species.
Beautiful ones, indeed!
If the plant reproduced by seeds we would already have silver, red, white and variegated ones.
