Yes, this is species! True species! ...and what a precious one!
Dyckia paucispina have some variants in terms of color, all impressing and
some more than others. They may come in green to a extravagant carmesin red.
All are brigth ´cause the wax on the leaves is the substitute of the silver scales
to reflect the sun light. They are all bright plants!
Rare hard to find in wilderness. They live up North Mato Grosso. That region
gets dry from July to December.
Do not go on thinking this her is the most colored paucispina ´cause it is not.
It was found amid a population in Mato Grosso three plants absolutely and impressive red., and most important they are not part time red plants. Some special individuals are full time red.
This shade of color here is the most rare of all. I think it is unique and really impressing.
The plant sprouted laterally as much as 12 new plants all clone all this shade of color.
