Dyckia marnier-lapostolley from Southwest Bahia

Dyckia marnier-lapostollei - Southwest Bahia
This is one of the most striking marnier varieties and one of the most beautiful Dyckias.
Comes from one of the poorest areas of Brazil.
Look at the saw like structure instead of spines this plant presents.
It is very succulent and also very harsh and rough to touch.
Cam be even more silver scaled if better managed.
This variety flowers in deep orange colors and the flowers open but not fully.
None of the marniers open fully their flowers and the estevessi variety just vomits
the masculine parts and keep the petals closed in order to prevent the ovarium from dehydration what would be fatal for the species that lives in one of the driest areas of the Cerrado.
