Dyckia Dona Francisca (or the pin cushion Dyckia)

This a native plant from Northeastern Santa Catarina. The land or the stone ground will be destroyed to built week-end leisure homes for the big cities around guys to spend some time in the field. The plant is not found anywhere else in the world but in a migger territory not more than half a football camp.
Yes, it looks like a huge pin cushion. In nature they form clumps and in culture it may take time to do so. Nice alone much much nicer altogether forming massive clumps of many individuals. The contrast between the upper surface of the leaves and the lower side makes all the difference.
