Dyckia sp Northeastern Santa Catarina

Native to Joinville Uphills this this new, unknown and unnamed Dyckia species
presents the color of the lead and that of the silver.

I remember the time I asked a Brazilian Agronomic engineer, Dyckia connoisseur, and bushman about Dyckias in Santa Catarina.
The guy said solemnly: In Santa Catarina we have 13 Dyckia species.
Since them I myself found more than 16 brand new Dyckias species. Sixteen never photographed, never, painted, never studied, never seen. We are in 2009 not in 1909 ! Also we are not way deep in the jungles of The Amazon or New Guinea. Santa Catarina is one of the most studied Brazilian States and also one of the most rich and developed of all states in Brazil. Now
wonder...
..and I just saw a tiny bit of Santa Catarina, don´t go on thinking I´ve seen every spot. No! Dyckias occur hing on mountains and many mountains in Santa Catarina never had a human foot on them. We have many, many mountains most is covered with luxuriant forests and also present stone and rocky slopes. When these slope faces North is almost certain to find Dyckias and almost certain to be a brand new one species.
Yes, there is still enough material brand new material for someone to feel like an entrepreneur, a Humbold. A mountainous territory has many many unseen spots, untouched places.
We will soon know of much more brand new Dyckia species.
