Dyckia encholirioides spinosissima

Ants are the most important pollinator agents here as the constant wind prevents most of the insects from getting to the flowers. Observe that the flowers do not open widely as some other Dyckia flowers. This is to prevent dehydration from the wind and the scorching Sun.
