Unquestionably the most beautiful Dyckia flowers are
Santa Catarina native.
Cerrado or Central Brazil Dyckias have to protect the flowers ovaries so
the petals do not open. They just have an orifice on top and through it the male parts are vomited. There the relative air humidity may stay for months below 20%.
Rio Grande do Sul Plants have usually immense flowers stalks and tiny inconspicuous flowers.
Santa Catraina Dyckias have the most striking flowers. Color, size in
beautiful arranjements.
Spring in our rock fields is always a show.
These insects are native bees. They do not sting and the
honey they produce is a nature wonder. Indians use it for medical
purposes. These bees are very active pollinators.
