Xylocopa latreille ( mamangava) is a big native bee.
They nest within death wood and they are huge docile, gentle and very import polinators.
They do not attack you unless you try to molest them.
Their sting are painful and dangerous and they can kill you as a snake bite.
Don´t touch them and there will be peace in your garden.
We all welcome them and they are the only polinators for the passion flowers (maracujá).
Mamangava and maracujá are native Brazilian indian words.
