Just opening Dyckia seeds looks like a persian rug, now with green stitches everywhere...

An oriental rug?
A master painting?
A factory of beauties, my plow...
Say wow three times ´cause they are hybrids!
Dyckia marnier lapostolei giant from Goiás X Dyckia lindelvaldeae.
These seedling are bond to be silver and exxxxxtra beautiful!
Both parents are self infertile but the Marnier plant accepted perfectly the lindelvaldeae pollen.
Dyckias are special plants they afford the dreaming. This is an hybridizing with both plants from the Cerrado Region of Central Brazil and this means these seedlings must be well heated here i Joinville. Dyckia seedlings from Central Brazil originated plants do not stand temperatures close to freezing and stop cells division around fifteen degrees Celsius. Fifteen Celsius is a lovely temperature for many many bromeliads from South in Brazil.
So here acidity, heat, humidity and light are sine qua non mandatory conditions.
So, we can say the Dyckia Mar-lindel exists!
Will it be super Silver scaled?
Will it be the size of a soccer ball?
Will it bear big golden teeth?
Will its leaves be arched downward?
Will it have a thick trunk?
Will its flowers be golden-yellow?
Will we like it?
...
The Dyckia lindelvaldeae seed pods are not ready yet but the seeds will be much smaller.
Also there will be less seeds as the flowers of both plants almost did not meet.
