Dyckia sp Northeastern Santa Catarina

This plant can be silvery all over.
Its orange/red flowers are big for a Dyckia pattern.

Do not miss to click on the pictures They will enlarge and you wont miss a single detail.

The under side of its leaves are deeply silver scaled.
The plant cope with the scorching sun lifting its leaves this way protects the growing middle of the rosette. It has shown to be very hard to get used to the culture conditions. Some Dyckias, for as incredible it can be, they are much easier to cultivate from a single seed than adult collected plant.
In nature this beauty lives on a rock at 1.000 m from the sea level.
It gets frozen several times in a year during the dawn.
