Dyckia lindelvaldeae foetid flowers



Look,here this beauty is producing four flower stems.
No one would tell such a magnificent plant would produce
flowers smelling so devastatingly bad.

Small and extremely beautiful these babies surprised me.
I ever heard they produce aromatic pleasant perfumed flowers but....
not these ones here!
The flowers are horrible fetid!
They smell something like old urine and sour armpit plus
a bit of rot shrimp, a hint of sour milk and a touch of a satisfied vulture breath, also some
rotting crab notes.

This plant may rely on mops to fertilize them.
They even do not open... I wonder if they did...
