Dyckia gastaldii - Northeastern Santa Catarina

Above you see the normal green ribbon leaved Dyckia gastaldii
and below its red form.
Most Dyckias have a red phase and this is determined by suffering and stress as cold and lack of water and once the stress ceases the green reappears.
The red form is ever, ever red and in this particular case it is
magnificent, astonishing beautiful, something to keep your mouth open and drooling buckets...

No two were found. This is a only one...at least up to now.
There were many green but red form just this only one.
Produced, big orange flowers and the plant can self fertilize
.

The leaves look like ribbons, intense colored red ribbons.

The inferior under face of the leaves are deeply scaled in intense silver.
The contrast is astonishing.

The proposed name for this rocky beauty is Dyckia gastaldii.
