Dyckia sp Northeastern Santa Catarina

Here these beauties are cultivated the way they are found in nature.
This position allows them to cope with the elements.
They feed through the stomata of the under side of the leaves.
Leaf feeding is extremely important when the plant endures lack of water.
In those times the feeding is totally made by these stomata. They present the under side of the leaves to the wind. The wind brings all the nutrients they feed on. Feeding time begins when dew is formed so the plants are capable of feeding through their leaves. Their roots are dry and have no power beyond securing the plants attached to the substrate. The new root system will begin to form soon as humidity is restored.
