Dyckia reitzii type form adult plants
Notice the young flower stalk.

See, Dyckia reitzii has a tendency to form flat crowns.
Why?
This is bewildering!
Maybe a way to cope with the strong wind or cold..
Dyckias? We barely know about them....
Imagine a fan like reitzii.
This is clearly seen here in this  wild population.

Flowers are kept directed down to favor the pollinator agent.
Once the seed buds are formed we see them turned up to better spread their seeds.
