One must be well equipped to climb our rock fields and the roads that lead there.
A 4x4 vehicle is a must not a luxury.

This Dyckia  habitat  is in  Campo Alegre in Santa Catarina.
the plants are a  Dyckia reitzii descent according to Raulino Reitzii who visited the region early in 1970.

The parentage with Dyckia reizii is noticeable in many Dyckia populations in this area.

Here one should notice the under leaves  and the way the plat use than to cope with the Sun and wind.
These pictures were taken two days ago.
Joinville is  located some 42 km down the mountains to the east.
Joinville is 5C now while Campo Alegra is  zero and snowing now close to midday!

This Dyckia habitat is 1.200m above sea level.

This plant  is not yet described!!
