Dyckia cabrerae

This is a tremendously rare Dyckia native to Santa Catarina Southwest uphills
 from Lages to Campos Novos.
Its cultivation presents some problems and the plant can´t stant several years without winter and it can stand temperatures as low as 18 or more degrees Centigrade below zero.
This here shown is rubra plant. Notice the rainbow sheen on the leaves, very hard to be captured  by the camera.

 
Compare this plant with the one in the postage below.
They resemble each other but they are different plants
 and they are very far apart in nature.
We know too little about Dyckias. 
We have only just begun to face them.
