Dyckia fosteriana nivosa

Here I have some observations  that may help us to understand Dyckias.

Dyckias do not grow leaf by leaf but in blocks, many leaves emerge  from the top and the only not growing leaves are those at the base of the plant. The white are here is exactly the new growth one, the one where the rain did not touch yet.

This is particularly seen in fosteriana nivosa plants. 

Dyckia fosteriana nivosa is a regional variety found way down South from where the type plant is found.

It is a smaller and much delicate plant. Its scales can be removed even by the wind so loose and rich they are. A well kept Dyckia fosteriana var. nivosa is a sight to behold.
