Dyckia excelsa

Dyckia excelsa
A perfect name for a beautiful Lady of the Rocks.
Native to Mato Grosso in the hearts of South America this beauty lives in the harshest
Dyckia sites of all. It may be seen on nude black rock unde the most schorching Sun.

Its name  Excelsa means exaulted (lofty) and it is also a perfect name.
It has been destroyed in nature by orchidophylists who take their trunck in order to be used as  basis for the culture of a native orchid far more commoner than this rare beautiful Dyckia.

Below we see a recent discovery, a sole shynning silver Dyckia excelsa affinis.
This is bound to be recognized as one of the most striking beautiful Dyckias.
This plant was just sent to me by a most dearing biologist friend and fiercy defensor
this species in nature.
