This little Dyckia comes form Serra de São Vicente near Cuiabá in Mato Grosso.
People call it Little Red (vermelhinha). It takes a little of imagination to take this for red in spite it gets a bit more redder than this here. Clumps readily and forms big thick Dyckia carpets.
In huge carpets they show their grace.
This is a plant for the xeric landscaping no doubt.
Its orange flowers are not that impressive but better looking than most of the Mato Grosso native Dyckias.
