New from Rio Verde in Mato Grosso

It is noticiable in Mato Grosso/Goiás border on the Araguaia Region
this sable teeth plants: D. goehringii, dawsonii, beateae, grandidentata and so on.
This region in immense but somehow Dyckia plants decided to keep a commom beauty outfit.

Big teeth are here to stay....
These huge spines are not just for protection as all animals feed on them with or without spines.
Agoutis, pacas, capybaras and other rodents relish a juice Dyckia.
The plants use  to recover from these attacks even when removed from the substrate..
These big teeth  are used to dissipate heat more than protection.
