This season the seed pods are swollen for we had a very cold winter.
Cold plays an important role in seed production.
If it is too much no seed is formed and also if it is too weak no seed is produced.
I found the temperatures in between +10 Celsius and -3 Celsius to be ideal for the plentiful seed production.
In fact, we all know very little about Dyckias in general.
Real scientific works and research are as rarities as most Dyckias are.
How intersting they are more fertil at a lower temperature range than other Dyckias. Such an important aspect for anyone trying to pollinate this plant....You learn something new everyday!
