Dyckia coximensis

Dyckia coximensis

This plant is no linger found in nature.
There is a small part of a dried one in one Herbarium here in Santa Catrina.
This one was dicoverde long ago by the Catholic priest and botanist Raulino Reitz in Mato Grosso do Sul.
There is a river named as Coxim and also a town. The rover changed its course several times due to the terrain itself (sandy) and due mining works. So, today with no records the plant is lost.
Two plants may have reached USA and there it was preserved some how.
Maybe these are the only ones living in Brazil today.
The upper picture is a pup.
The plant gets real sole red but must be suffering for this change to take place.

  1. Dyckia with leaves that shine, give even more breeding directions. I still very much like the most stark white leaf backs....Dreaming..
