Dyckia brevifolia - as in nature

In nature on rocks alongside the river side Dyckia brevifoia thrives.
Endemic to some running rivers banks of the Southern part of Brazil this is one old classic among Dyckias and one of the most used to transmit good shape to hybrids.
In spite of being a sole plain green plant it is very charming.
Blooms yellow in Spring time but the variety native to The High Itajaí Valley
in Santa Catarina blooms in Autumn and the flower stem bracts are wine red as you see here,
Dyckia brevifolia Izabel is a jumbo Dyckia brevifolia as you easily distinguish here conspicuous among the
most common Dyckia brevifoia. Notice that one is quite ready with its flowers stalk and we are in late May our middle Autumn in South Hemisphere.
