Dyckia pottiorum cultivated as it grows in nature.


All in a single giant enameled ceramic bowl. You see several color shades and I tried to mimic the place they live found in nature. This is the type form. The type form has vanished from the wilderness since the last major drought in 2017. Stray cattle ate all the plants. Not a single one was left in Corguinho area Mato Grosso do Sul.
Dyckias are edible and the starving stray cattle wandered on the stone ground and ate all they found.




The large heavy rocks prevent the soil from drying out completely.
Dry weather and wind dry the substrate in a very short time.


Plants are not uprighted as you can see here. The sprouts are not fanned initially.




These pictures were taken show them on a sunny day just after a summer shower.
