Dyckia excelsa
This is a westerner, native to Mato Grosso, Brazil.
This Dyckia species can grow on almost totally bare nude rocks.
Also it presents several looks and sizes and it is close to be understood as a complex more than a species.
They can be deep scaled and shinning silvery as this one s here and also are found um huge sizes and all sort of greens and reddish. In nature it s trunks are sought after by orquidofilists who use them as media to grow a locally found orchid. These orchidiots as we say here are the main cause of this marvel destruction.
If it wasn't for preservers like you of these magnificent plants, they would be lost forever....What loss for humanity if it weren't here to enjoy...
