This beauty is an unexpected stunning surprise from Rio Grande do Sul.
Its kinship to the already known and desired Dickia delicata is well revealed its soft rubery spines and its overall looks. Its flowers however are quite diffent being yellow and opening wide.
Its seeds are bigger than those of the delicata.
Also this baby is seen in many shades between gris-green and wine-red.
Its light amber colored spines contrast well with the color of the leaves.
