Dyckia marnier-lapostollei var. estevesii

Dyckia marnier-lapostollei has many faces and looks,
some of them we are still to know.
The marnier group is composed by many varieties. This
is for the fact it is well spread over the Central Brazil Cerrado.
Normally its populations are composed by just a few individuals
and this leads to the conclusion for critical endangered plant.
In fact some varieties may be already being vanished form nature and
never got to any garden. Others may be only found in culture.
Some are yet to be known. Somehow Dyckias are protected by the fact they thrive
only in very rocky spots where the field machinery is not viable.
The Cerrado was believed to be unpractical for crop and this proved to be not true.
Soil correction turned the immense crops possible. Corn and Soy plantations are so huge
they go from horizon to horizon.
Some cattle confined farms rely on soy bean to feed their animals. These farms are
one of the most horrendous visions we can have.
The concept of confined meat must be revised as a human conduct.
Soy bean is largely transformed into nutritious food for milking cows around the world
and confined meat producing farms cattle.
Fact is: today a well minded and informed person does not eat flesh no matter
who it belonged to or better yet who was it.
I do believe day will come when we understand this more clearly.
Today in many of the times we eat meat and take shots of hormones, antibiotics, agricultural defensive and drugs we merely wonder. These drugs are getting so sophisticated and new they are undetectable to most of the exams.
If you think you do not feast on flesh I guarantee.

Twisted, contorted and overturned leaves make this Dyckia one of the most
desired and beautiful ones.
This is species!
