Yes. we have some famous and well known fake Dyckia species. Let us visit two of them and ponder a bit. One fake species is Dyckia julianae, a pretty charming natural hybrid resulting from Dyckia choristaminea and Dyckia hebdingii cross.
Dyckia juliana , its author, Dyckia hebdingii and Dyckia choristaminea the four of them lived together, the plants still do. They are all from the very same area. How come not suspect of natural hybridizing knowing Dyckias better than all and knowing Dyckias are very very very frivolous plants and they lay down with any other Dyckia and also some relatives on blink of an eye. They marry some other bromeliad plants too without twice thinking. Dyckias are Mary-goes-round and they are made to be so. They must survive as long as they manage to be. They do not count til three when pollen is at they disposal Why not even suspect? Science is based on doubts, curiosities and botany is a science, isn´t it? So more on the face than the nose, obviously a natural hybrid.
This proves science can be funny too and not a bit divine.
