Dyckia excelsa, the BBB Dyckia: Big, Bold and Beautiful

Dyckia excelsa

Native to Mato Grosso it was almost extinguished by the Orchid lovers who took their trunks in order to cultivate a native rare orchid. How come plant lovers do that?

Some places where it dwells in natue are so  extreme the plants are literally growing on the nude rock.
These plants are under the most scorching Sun so they are pink colored and extremely fured. Yes their scales are so many they seem to be fured.
Under culture the plant resishes the water and the the always humid substrate.
I love to keep happy plants  and not tortured ones no matter how colorful they get under stress.
This one here just got a new roomy home all for herself.
