Dyckia fosteriana

Dyckia fosteriana nivosa
Small white and beautiful the nivosa variety of Dyckia fosteiana is
an image one can´t forget . Native to Lapa in Paraná it is for sure one of the most good looking small Dyckias of all. Dyckia fosteriana described as a Dyckia species is in fact a Dyckia complex with many varieties, some intriguingly dazzling.

Dyckia fosteriana rubra var. marialava
his is native to the outskirts of the city named Marialva in Paraná
and one of the whitest of all Dyckias.

Dyckia fosteriana var. marialva

This is nor a rubra form so the green base is conspicuous seen here.
Normally the rubra forms are much more uncommon than the green form
in Dyckias. With Dyckia fosteriana Complex the rubra forms and all its varieties
are much more frequently seen. If I had to choose just one sort of Dyckias to keep I would,
no doubt, pick up the Dyckia fosteriana Complex one. It seems this Dyckia complex has an endless array of beauties and surprises. The fosteriana genes are also found in some northeastern Santa Catarina Dyckia undescribed species as Dyckia donafranciscae and
some Native to the Campo Alegre region Dyckia species.
