Dyckia reitzii the Abyss Queen!

Some damage caused by the extrteme ice.

There is an Aechmea there too.

No this is not gyrated!
This is on the wall of the abyss...

Can you see the abysm?

Notice the clear margins of the leaves...

The flower stalks are already emerging...
One of the most spectacular Dyckia blooms.

Most of the grass is already burned by the ice.
Ice formation occurs in starry windless nights during  mid winter.
The mist freezes and the withe blanket of the frost cover everything and life stands still for the night.
The following morning usually is shinny and clear and the temperatures
rises promptly an melts the frosted mist.

Notice a rubra one can be seen there...
