Dyckia pectinata is among the rarest Brazilian plants and also one of the most beautiful.
It is long known as the Dyckia species that never sprouts. This plant is not known to have produced any basal cloning as it is expected.
The word pectinata is Latin for like a comb refering to the spines.
Red Dyckia pectinata is a legendand this legend came true thanks to the efforts of a skilled Brazilian Botanist that lives in the outskirts of the Amazonian Forest:
Dr. Apolônia Gradea. She is today one of the highest authorities on Brazilian Dyckias.
Observe the basal sprouting here...
This turns possible the true duplication of this beauty.
