Dyckia burle-marxii

Dyckia burle-marxii is already a controversial plant.
But one point everybody agrees: it is beautiful and rare.
Burle Marxii the Brazilian world famous landscaper used this plants in his gardening makings
but he seems to have failed in describing precisely its native habitat.
Today we have some plants in his particular garden in Rio de Janeiro.
This plant was found living on a high vertical granitic wall in Goiás.
This wall is surrounded by soy plantation and some of it was turned in to pasture for the cattle this allowed some seeds to germinate there amid the grass. This is one of them.
One should attempt to the bracteas here, the flower bractea and the flower stem bractea to decide this is a true Dyckia burle-marxii or not.
Anyway it is gorgeous. Flower in deep orange, seeds are big and the plant is self fertile.
