An intrepid climber and Dyckia lover Brazilian botanist. 
Here he is close to the Dyckia monticola var. rubra variegata arqus pluvius, 1667 metes high.

Frosts are common plance here. It snows also.
To get this high   one need to be physical fit and crazy. Fogs may be too dense for one to move saftly.
Commonly one can not even see his own hand within dense fogs. 
Temperatures can get as low as -16°C! 


My friend Márcio de Oliveira on the to of the hill.
He and Dr. Vilson Müller were there on the very top of the hill, 1680m high.
I stayed half the way at 1352m high, my heart and my physic prevented me to go any further up.
That´s why friends are for.....crazy ones and scientists.
