Dyckia catharinensis.lives on a sea island in Santa Catarina.

Dyckia catharinensis
Describide by C. Kock in 1873.
Lives on the Southern  half part of Ilha de Santa Catarina (Once writter Catharina).

Dyckia encholirioides a much bigger and not endumented species lives
in the North half of  the island.
This plant live  absolutely close to sea water. so close it can be bathat by it during extreme hight tides and
it is constantly sprayed by sea water.

The plant is an excentricity and a rarity.
Recently people though it was a sub species of encholirioides but DNA proved  very, very different from one another. This is an endumented plant presntinf a light cover of white scales.
The first time it blooms under cultivation.
We shall follow it here this its flowers open and we wil compare them to the encholirioides.
