Latim names and their pronuncers...

...The very same way I should not read in French someting written in German I can not read a Latim name as it was English. If it is written in Spanish it must be read in Spanish. People who speaks Portuguese, spanish, Italian, Romanian, French tend to understand quite easy one another and can read latin with a good amount of acertiveness. This is possible ´cause these are Latim as it is spoken today.
Also someone  who holds a very rich English or German can read Latin names  with success. Shakeaspeare used one of the richest English we know. He used many thousand English words in his writtings. He woul read latim perfectly. A very rich English or German vocabular speaker would read Latim precisely. This is quite rare! Normally people read a Latim name as  it was an English or German word and the result is something hard to listen to and not even understandable. The word platyphylla is a saga to English speakers. Let us do it correctly:

platy means broad or flat and is pronounced platee

phylla means leaf and it is pronounced feella

People use to pronunce the letter Y  in platyphylla as it was the Y of flY. The result is a funny one.

So please do not spell Dyckia as its Y had the same pronounce as in Fly.

Dyckia = Dee-kee-A
