Normally people read a Latim name as it was an English or German word and the result is something hard to listen to and not even understandable. The word platyphylla is a saga to English speakers. Let us do it correctly:
platy means broad or flat and is pronounced platee
phylla means leaf and it is pronounced feella
People use to pronunce the letter Y in platyphylla as it was the Y of flY. The result is a funny one.
So please do not spell Dyckia as its Y had the same pronounce as in Fly.
