Dyckia reitzii rubra Fortaleza and its impressive dark red/wine leaves

The deep dark leaves here contrast with the whiteness of the under leave surfaces.

Notice the plant is initiating blooming. It blooms here at the middle of Winter.
the deepest the temperatures the shorter the floral stem.
This way one can tell correctly  tell how the winter temperatures were by the size of the floral stalk.
The highest the stalks milder were the temperatures.

I have seeds from this very same plant here shown.
The spines on the rubra plants shine in red and not black as on the green ones.
Another very important point here. Plants from Fortaleza Canyon no matter being green or deep dark they produce seeds that produce both plants, green type  and deep red wine ones.
