Dyckia reitzii rubra pink from Aparados da Serra 

Dring winter time, when our days are shorter, this beauty gets pinkish and does not grow a bit as fast as now in Summer here.
More than temperature mountain dweller species seem to care about the length of the days.

Here it is seen in its most active growing period.
