Dyckia reitzii rubra

This Thursday early in the morning.
It is damp by dew, almost a frost as the temperature was 4 degrees Centigrade.
It is getting redder and redder.
What triggers this reddening?
Short days and cold!

This plant was shadowed and super fed during  the last Summer.
I wanted it to recover from the damage of some sever frost on its foliage.
The trick worked.
Now it is getting  and regaining its natural looks as it got a new sunny spot
and the winter is getting closer.
