Growing together, living together ... just like that pretty Burt Bacharat song...
Yes, a sight to behold forever.
Think.
Dyckias...These creatures of the Light are mostly Brazilian. Many of them are still to be seen by the very first time. Come on in. Let us see some. This Blog was created to show you the plants in my garden and also help you to keep happier Dyckias. This is the beginning of the book:THE ALLURING DYCKIAS. I may share some seeds with you. This way we help Dyckias to be known, understood and cherished. Email me at: constantinog@terra.com.br Constantino Gastaldi -Brazil ... 55-47-3425-8085

We are deeply inexperienced when concerning to this lovely looking Encholirium. Here, everything is new, never seen before.
Small, green, light white scale not well covered, dark curved spines and leaves are bent downwardly.
Its origins are obscure. Its is a species that grows close to running clear waters south in Brazil.
Leaves re glabros and just the apical spine is present.
Extremely beautiful and remind me of Dckia strehliana only much bigger.
Once taken as Dyckia ramboi but this name is invalid.
Nice shaping and very large white scales on dark surface.
This creates a super pretty snowy looking and makes this one of the best looking Dyckias.
This is, in my opinion, the queen of all Dyckias.
A friend separated a spliting heads plant and gave one to me.
I got swollen in happiness. It was November 2024. Just a bit ago.
Then a wild dove lodged in my garden and Juca and Joca, my dogs, spotted it.
Chasing the poor bird in frenesi they stepped on my new precious plant.
Ohhhhhhhhh, poor bird, poor plant, poor me!
Among dead we survived,
the plant and me but we both are under intense recovering.
The dove? Well it must be somewhere trying to regrow its tail
Here my beauty.
You can see the damage on its left side
Yes, this is the Queen of all Dyckias.
Yes, it is a well descried species. It is a species!!!
But I can name a espécimen, can´t I?
Hummmmm.. I shall do it.
What about Cleo, Dyckia Cleopatra?
Let us wait for its intire recovering. You will agree with me.
It is stunning glorious beautiful.
This is a beauty and a rarity. It was brought to me as a seed some 15 years ago.
I am sure you never saw it before
Dyckia pseudodelicata is for sure one of the most beutiful plants on Earth. It is a recent finding and a recent described species too.
It is found in all colors, white, red, green and all shades in between.
It lives on a very restricted area west in Rio Grande do Sul ome 300km away from any Dyckia delicata.
Dyckiapseudodelicata is a key that opens any Dyckia lover mouth and keep it drooling...
