Here on bright clear Summer day...understand Dyckias´role in nature....


I took this picture yesterday nearby.
As the temperature was close to boiling, I took it from inside the car.


See this mountain. It is s only one solid granitic rock.
The bare rock is revealed by the tempest which waters made the trees to fall down and bring all others in its way down the monolithic rock mountain.
Huge trees are there. How come?
Well `cause once and thousands and thousands years ago  there were likens and algae on the rocks...them the Dyckias came and them the grasses...the bushes, the trees.
Dyckias are colonizer plants and they are all under self extinction!!!
the trees make them die as they produce shadows and Dyckias won´t grow under shadows for they are Sun lovers.
This is in  Schröeder, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
