Beheaded Dyckia delicata rubra.
Decapitation showed to be a fine way to duplicate a beautiful and rare Dyckia.
Above you can spot the old leaves of the beheaded plant.
This way of multiplication is extremely useful to plants that do not emit lateral sprouts,
special cultivars, variegated ones...

This is one of the best living proves of this.
It was found by a friend of mine, a farmer in Minas Gerais and this beauty lives in super restricted area of less than 20 square meters!!!
It is found anywhere else.
This population is now saved from Eucalyptus plantation.
My friend is going to preserve the area.
We are finding who will describe it.

A surprise on top of the mountain.
This must be a Dyckia not yet studied.
It was found by Dr. Vilson Müller and Dr Alexandre Kinas in between Araçatuba Peak and its neighbour mountain.
It was found by Dr. Vilson Müller and Dr Alexandre Kinas in between Araçatuba Peak and its neighbour mountain.
This was May 15th 2017.
The terrain was a bog one.
Flower stalks are as tall as Dr. Vilson.
This condithions is absolutely weird for a Dyckia to grow.
Bog is not a good terrain for a Dyckia and .....
Just 16 plants were found!!!!
