This plant is mistaken to Dyckia chorestaminea the spaghetti Dyckia.
A second look will soon put things on the right dish.

Dyckia hatschbachii
Paraná native species.
This one is not as huge as Dyckia enchoirioides.
Produces conspicuous yellow flowers, big for a Dyckia pattern.
This species is well arranged architecturally and it is a nice choice for hybridizing.

The Northest Santa Catarina Highland Dyckia Complex
has much to show in terms of new species and natural hybrids.
This makes us think...don´t all Dyckias came form one or..at the beginning
there was just one or every species happened to be all at the same time?
The reasonably is to think of one and all others are descent or ....natural hybrids.
This NSCHD Complex seem to be a factory of new Dyckia species.

This one in particular is green and silver dusted all over.
Flowers in very showy yellow petals.

Yes this baby comes from the land of the cheese bread.
There they cook white rice and the grain does not stick together.
Well, this is a small Dyckia possibly already knew to science.
Here I am the one who does not know!

It snows frequently and the temperature may drop way below freezing point.
This Dream Dyckia grows on rocks facing North and just a skilled alpinist can get close to it.
It is a colorful plant.
These never flourished, a young seedling above and a young plant below.
Everything else about this Dyckia stays to be known.

The conspicuous spines are hard and injurious.
The plant is well armed.
This young plant is producing lateral pups.
So it must be a clump forming Dyckia.

Dyckia sp - Tres Passos - RS

This is one rarity from Northeastern Rio Grande do Sul.
Its spines are rubbery as well those of Dyckia delicata from the central area of the Rio Grande do Sul. This plant here is much smaller than its counterpart but as pretty.
I have heard about a red form, a rubra one.
It fits well into one´s hand.
A very hard to find plant. This is not a self fertile Dyckia. I have just this one plant.
Flower in orange petals, conspicuous and 80 cm high.
I crossed with success with a Dyckia fosteriana and everybody loves the result.
Never heard a word from the academic science about this creature.
It grows on granitic cliff walls facing North.

Northeastern Santa Catarina Highlands Dyckia Complex, another gem from the rocks.

Yes, this is Dyckia dusenii.
It may grow a lot more and turn to be a big one.
It comes in all sort of shades and hues of olive green and
also plain green.
The high point in this wonder Dyckia is the flowering.
The flower spike is a sight to behold for a Dyckia. It stands a some one meter straight high and bears big orange flowers.
It would be a perfect plant for producing cut flowers.
The two little plants here belong to a brand new and charming new species from Paraná.
They look like a Dyckia brevifolia but they have much to grow...
