Dyckia encholirioides blooming.
Here you see clearly three separated stages in the blooming
flower stalk.
- The fruits already forming
- The flowers ready to be fertilized
- Bud flowers to be opened
Dyckias usually do not open all its flowers at once but a few at a time.
This allows the plant to be certain some of its flowers will get
the right pollinators and the proper pollen.
