A taxonomic imbroglio to be solved...

People and bushmen searched every, cliff, hill and mountain and valley in the
Serra do Lenheiro Minas Gerais in order to find the famous and never seen Dyckia argentea.
Many more mistakes were created. Some Ortophytum was taken as possible Dyckia argentea and also some Encholirium. Every supposition did not lasted long as the mistaken plant bloomed.

Dyckia argentea was turning into a phantom plant. Then somebody had a bright idea of taking a good look at the voucher or exsicata, the holytype plant preserved somewhere in a herbarium and.....
What was revealed took taxonomy aback ... the dried straw revealed a Hechtia and not a Dyckia.
Funny enough and oddly up to a miracle all this searching and searching also revealed a most silver Dyckia native to Serra do Lenheiro in Minas Gerais.
..and now?
Technically this plant is just a Dyckia sp and Dyckia argentea is in fact a Hecthia.
The imbroglio is still well wrapped in several layers of doubts and so and so and
also well tied up with silence the cord of the silence.
...but the imbroglio is here, there and everywhere.

Above any discussion This plant here is outrageously beautiful
and one of the least known plants abroad.
Smugglers did not get to it yet.
The populations, three of them, are all well hidden
but all very small.
We know almost nothing about it except the fact is is ...gorgeous!
There are the blue silver one and the red silver one variety or rubra one.
It get a bit bigger than a soccer ball.
This plant is bound to create a hush among Dyckia lovers everywhere.
