Dyckia encholirioides
That old bromelia cursed cycle: grow - bloom - die - rot - grow....
This is so serious that with some bromeliad species we keep on asking gods
not to allow the plant to bloom. After blooming we may have a serious hto potato in hand:
get rid of the rotting body. Those majestic Alcantaraea for instance.
We may have those broad leaved ones, deep wine colored or intrigued variegated plants.
Imponent and beautiful and once finishing blooming you will needed to the
think on a strategy in order to get rid of what used to be a the most beautiful plant.
Beethoven Funeral March would fit good.
The funeral works may require skilled people and also a crane.
Where to dump a rotting monster requires Logistic for the thing is a heavy one.
Two hundred kilograms is not for just two Herculean well fit guys.
Simply two is not enough.
Those who already had this sad and weird experience know quite well understand what I mean.
Now look up at this picture again. This Dyckias has spines and the very same size of an Alcantaraea imperialis. Imagine the scene if it was a cursed bromeliad too....
It would require more than two Hercules... armed Hercules.
It is a true relief to keep Dyckias...just cheer enchantment...
Dyckias do not die after blooming but if you do not keep yes well opened here they may die before it....
