What about this? Dyckia encholirioides and Dyckia delicata Barros Cassal torrid affair ...

Dyckia delicata
and
Dyckia encholirioides

We are producing the very first hybrid using these two species.
They for sure will be a big one plant.
In two years we will see it more clearly.

This kind of possibility makes Dyckias even more alluring plants.

I am very fond of Dyckias but not any Dyckia.
Some Dyckias are drab grass like plants. I call them capinzentas as they
are just like a plain grass clump. In fact many grows amid grasses and are only distinguished by their flowers or easily noticed when it is blooming time. Those do not interest me at all.
A Dyckia must do its part in order to get me as its server.
Yes, in order to keep a plant we must be its server. We have to feed it, water it, protect it
and even take care of their reproduction needs.
So for a Dyckia to take me as its server it has to fulfil its part and its part is to be more than just plain beautiful. It must be gorgeous at least!

I do not say I have many Dyckias instead I state many Dyckias have me.

Dyckias are good forks. If you do not feed them regularly they fade away.
Dyckias are good drinkers and if you do not water them they get ugly and sad looking.

In order to keep happy Dyckias you must be at their disposal.

When you are sick, sad, feeling down, weary... they are hungry and thirsty.

They need to be cared during your holidays, your celebration days and your sad ones.

Dyckias are not a kid thing. They are rare plants that must be cared regularly.

Room for them are expensive anywhere let aside in Moscow, Berlin, Chicago, Tokyo and so on during Winter, Spring and Autumn times.
I would never waste time and money with a sad plant or a not interesting and more than beautiful one.

I won´t serve just anything, will you?

True pure species and also the drab capinzentas must be studied and kept in big reserves where they are and in Public Gardens. This is a role the specialized Public Garden or the Regional ones must play.
They are the only equipped, proper and skilled people to do so.
We pay them to do so and we expect them to do so....and brilliantly.
