Dyckia pseudococcinea is a true old known species.
It has an ample habitat in South but even so it is rare.
Its Latin name means fake burning fire.
It may get real red as fire when under hydric stress.
In Santa Catarina is found in Joinville Uphills.
Likes colder nights and lives over 1000 meters high only and it is extremely rare under
this altitude.
Blooms magnificently in red/orange big conspicuous flowers.
