Dyckia beatea is one of the most colorful Dyckias.
It seems to exist two distint varieties ant two locations for it in nature.
The rupiculous population have smaller more compact and more colorful plants.
The plants growing below on sand and rock debris and a bit shadowed are larger, less colorful.
Maybe this is just the reflect of a better life or maybe they are two varieties.
Fact is Dyckia beateae doesn´t get this colorful if shadowed.
